I don't trust online ordering, can I phone order instead?

Yes of course. You can call us on 1800 707 076 to order. However ordering online is totally safe and we recommend it so you can access your portal for record keeping.

Do I receive an invoice for my order?

Yes you will receive an invoice once you have completed the transaction. You can access this online in your portal, in addition we will email you a copy. If you are having issues accessing it online or did not receive the a copy, please contact us and we will send it to you again.

Can I get a refund?

We believe EnviroPro Alternatives has great products and hope that you love them too; however, if you’d like to return them for any reason, we will accept a return for 30 days. EnviroPro Alternatives will reimburse 100% of the purchase price excluding shipping costs once the product is received back.

Eligibility for a refund:

Your item must be unused and in the same condition in which we received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To request a refund please contact us in writing, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Shipping returns:

We will notify you it is time to ship the item back to us at EnviroPro Alternatives. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer directly. 

You will be responsible for arranging and paying for your own shipping of the item.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may want to consider using tracking. We don’t take any responsibility for items until we receive them in our warehouse.

When will I get my refund?

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 5 working days.

Do you ship outside of Australia?

We don't sell our composting toilets outside of Australia because the below do↓ They are amazing suppliers that help support these regions with toilets, accessories, and etc.

Do you offer pick-up of items?

Yes you can pick up from our warehouse based on the Mid North Coast at Emerald Beach NSW, Pick ups are only available during business hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and Saturday 8.30am - 1.00pm. Please call us before coming, so we can ensure someone is there to meet you.

At check out please select pick up, once your product(s) have been processed we will email you that your package is ready for pick up.

Who do you ship with?

We use StarTrack who offer us great service and competitive pricing.

Depending on your location, and size of package. We use StarTrack fix premium pricing or road express.

Please note all items over 5kg are shipped via road express unless otherwise arranged.

How can I find out how much shipping will cost?

Your shipping cost is calculated on weight and location. You can see the cost of freight in your cart.

The freight is calculated based on your number of packages, weight and location.

How long will delivery take?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours of receiving your order. Once we have processed your order you will receive a notification that your order has been processed. At this time you will receive a tracking number.

How is my item packaged?

We take great care in packaging and handling for each order to ensure it arrives to you safely as each item should. If the item is fragile it will be packaged with bubble wrap.

Depending on the size of the product/order it will be packaged either in a box or a satchel.

How do I know if my item has been shipped?

We normally send you an automated email advising you that your item has been shipped. This email will include your tracking number for StarTrack. You can track the status of your parcel through their portal.

What is the quickest way to get my item delivered to me?

Choose StarTrack Premium Parcel. We use this method for parcels under 5kgs.  Depending on where you live, packages are usually delivered within:

  • Metro: 1-2 days
  • Regional: 3 – 5 days
  • Rural and remote: 7 – 10 days
Can we deliver to a PO Box or Parcel Locker?

Yes we can no problem, unless your item is larger than 1 meter long or over 20kg cubed, and in this case a courier must be used and a daytime street address is required.

You sent me an email saying my item was posted and I still have not received my order. Where is my item?

Delivery times are estimates only and are based on nothing going wrong such as unforeseen delays or busy trading periods for couriers.

Our experience is that your package is probably awaiting your collection at a nominated collection point. StarTrack may have already made delivery attempts to your address and you have not been there, so check your mailbox for calling cards.

Please track your package using the StarTrack portal. If you are concerned please contact us.

Can I send to a different address other than my own?

Yes. We use the postal address stored in your account. So when processing your order, please make sure this is correct before you proceed through to checkout, so postage is calculated correctly and we have the exact address.

If you have ordered from us before. Just update the details in your account info online.

If you have already processed the order and want to change the address after it has been placed please contact us immediately with your order details and we will try to help you if it has not been dispatched.

Is my package trackable?

Yes, you will be supplied with a StarTrack tracking number, which can be tracked via their portal.

What will happen if I am out when my parcel arrives?

Where delivery is not possible, the parcel will be taken to your nearest collection point and you will receive a notification of attempted delivery card. Please check the StarTrack portal to track delivery.

Are my credit card details stored?

No. If paying with your credit card your payment is encrypted and you process your payment yourself and we never view your card details. If you call to pay with your credit card direct with us we place card number direct into our merchant facility whilst on the phone and is deleted once payment is processed. When checking out it does ask you if you would like to store your card information for quicker checkout. Card information is held by Stripe, we are unable to see card details.

How easy is it to install a composting toilet?

Do composting toilets smell?

No. The separation of the urine from the solids is the key to no odour. When working properly it may have only a slight earthy smell.

Why is the toilet seat moulded into the unit?

The toilet seats are much simpler to clean and sturdier for rough conditions; they won’t crack or break. They have been designed for the “mobile” market, in particular boating and off-road adventuring.

What is Coir Peat and why do I need it?

Compost toilets use organic materials to absorb odours and create the perfect environment for microbes to break down waste. We prefer coir peat for its sustainability, accessibility, and affordability.

You can purchase a coir peat brick from us or from any garden store, Bunnings or BigW.

How does the composting toilets separate urine and solids?

When the trap door is closed, the urine from anywhere in the bowl will flow to the bottle.

When the trap door is open, the solids will drop into the solids chamber. Remember to open the trap door when it is time to do a poo.

When should I empty the composting toilet units?

Both toilets allow you to go longer than traditional chemical toilet, before needing to empty them.

For two people full time the OGO Origin will last you 3 – 4 weeks, approximately 30 - 40 uses.

The larger capacity of the Nature’s Head toilet allows you to travel for up to 6 weeks, approximately 80 uses.

The bottle in the OGO Origin is 9 litres and hidden behind the draw. The Nature's Head urine bottle is 8.5 litres and positioned at the front, allowing you to see the urine level.

The urine bottle is recommended to be emptied every 24 - 48 hours.

Where can I dispose of the waste?

That's the million-dollar question right? There are several responsible disposal options available.

Disposal of solids waste

  • Empty your solids into a dedicated compost bin for human waste. Please remember you have only just begun the composting process in the toilet. In just 6 to 12 months, your compost mixture will have completely broken down and become safe for the environment. However please do not empty your compost bin on consumable plants such as your veggie patch.
  • When on the go you need to empty your solids bin. Simply add the waste into a bio degradable/compostable bag, and place it in a rubbish bin going to landfill.  This approach is akin to handling disposable nappies. The waste will continue to breakdown at the landfill.
  • Have no access to a dedicated compost bin or rubbish bin and you are off grid. Dig a hole deep enough in the ground to place the solids waste. Please ensure the waste is covered adequately so no wild life or other individuals can access it. Always check your local municipality's guidelines and regulations. As some national parks do not allow you to dispose of waste in the ground or have rules on how far you need to dig down.

Disposal of the urine:

We highly recommend emptying your urine bottle every 24-48 hours either down a drain or under a tree/shrub. For boaters, urine may be legally dumped on the high seas.

Just don't wait for your bottle to be full as the urine can begin to smell.

Remember to put your cap on the bottle when carrying it. We don't want it to splash everywhere.

How easy is it to clean the composting toilet?

Composting toilets are easy to clean. It is as simple as removing the urine bottle and solids chamber, and emptying them into the appropriate method of disposal.

The solids bin does not need to be fully cleaned after emptying. The remaining soil serves as a compost starter for the next filling. Please do not use anything antibacterial around the seat or in the solids chamber.

You may want to rinse out your urine bottle with detergent to remove any residuals left behind by the urine.

Does composting work in cold conditions?

Composting works from 12°C and warmer. The warmer it is, the faster it composts. When the temperature drops to freezing, the bacteria in the compost will become dormant until heat is introduced into the area.

Will extreme cold conditions damage the toilet?

No, just empty the urine bottle regularly. The compost and toilet will be unharmed in freezing weather.

Can I use these toilets while standing up?

You can if you have great aim. It is HIGHLY recommended to sit. There is no lift up toilet seat, so males should be conscious about not leaving liquid on the seat.

What toilet paper do i need to use?

Any kind of toilet paper will work, however we recommend up to 2 ply paper at 2 - 3 squares at a time, so no lengthy pieces of toilet paper get stuck around the agitator.

Is it ok to dispose of tampons in the solids bin?

We do not recommend this. Many brands of tampons are made from a mix of rayon and non-organic cotton, and are commonly chlorine-bleached. These will not decompose. Organic, 100% cotton tampons will compost, but will take a significant amount of time.

No, our products use a micro-nutrient formula that supplements the growth and activity of the existing bacteria creating an environment in which they thrive.

How are your treatment products eco friendly?

Because our treatment product are not chemicals they will not damage the environment, instead they work with Nature.

How do your treatment products help with odour control?

The proprietary formula consists of micronutrients, amino acids and complex organic extracts which help to create a balanced biological environment to prevent the development of odours by combating odor problems at the source.

Can I use PTT (Portable Toilet Treatment) in my chemical toilet?

Yes you can use PTT (Portable Toilet Treatment) in your chemical toilet. This product is a highly concentrated natural nutrient base liquid that eliminates odours and breaks down solids. PTT contains a mild fragrance.

I have a smelly septic what product do you recommend?

SSR (Septic System Revitaliser) is a concentrated liquid, which is used to “shock” the septic system if it is new, sluggish or has a major odour problem. It is is an all natural nutrient base.

SSR will affect and aid the removal of fat, grease, oil, BOD, suspended solids and ammonia from wastewater and drain fields. It also reduces faecal coliform levels.

What is the correct dosage of SSR to treat my smelly septic tank?

To shock dose a new system or blocked drain field, empty 400ml into toilet last thing at night and flush. Then use 10ml of SSR weekly or an SST for ongoing maintenance.

What is the correct dosage of SSR to treat my grease traps or grey water lines?

To clean a grease trap and maintain grey water lines, place 10ml in the kitchen sink with a sink full of water and then release. This should be done last thing at night for three nights and then at least one night each week.
