How to Calibrate the OGO™ ORIGIN Urine Sensor
f the LED light on the power button stays on when the bottle is empty—or never lights up even when it’s full—your urine sensor may need calibration. This guide walks you through adjusting sensitivity to ensure accurate detection.
How the Sensor Works
The OGO™ ORIGIN uses an NPN capacitive sensor to detect urine levels. When the sensor’s electromagnetic field is disrupted by something capacitive—like urine or water—it triggers a signal. That signal is sent via the yellow wire to the power button, lighting up the LED.
Sensor Wiring Overview:
-
Brown: 12V power
-
Blue: Ground
-
Yellow: Signal output (triggers LED)
If the LED isn’t behaving as expected, the issue could be sensitivity—or a loose signal connection between the sensor and the button.
Normal Function
-
LED OFF: Bottle is empty, drawer is closed
-
LED ON: Bottle is full, drawer is closed
If your LED is always on or never on, it’s time to recalibrate.

How to Adjust Sensitivity
1. Locate and Remove the Sensor
Find the sensor behind the urine bottle on the left side. Gently push it forward out of its bracket.

2. Open the Sensor
Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the back cover. Inside, you’ll see a small silver adjustment dial(potentiometer).

3. Adjust the Dial
-
If the LED is always on: Turn the dial clockwise to reduce sensitivity.
-
If the LED never comes on: Turn the dial counter-clockwise to increase sensitivity.
Make small turns and test after each adjustment. It may take multiple full rotations.
Test for Accuracy
Remove the bottle and drawer:
-
The LED (and the red sensor light) should turn off.
Then place your finger or a full bottle in front of the sensor: -
The LED should turn on.
Repeat several times to ensure consistent results. For best accuracy, test with water in the bottle—not just your hand.

Reassemble
-
Snap the back cover on the sensor
-
Reinsert it into the bracket
-
Return the bottle and drawer to the unit
Your sensor is now calibrated.
